Purpose of this course
- To teach and equip you with the basic skills that are required to operate a 4 wheel drive vehicle safely, confidently and also in an environmentally sensitive manner.
What do we need?
- The most important tools that are necessary to safely and confidently drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle are our eyes.
Why a 4x4?
- People or companies buy 4 wheel drive vehicles for different reasons.
- For work purposes: Police, Eskom, Army, Vodaocom, MTN etc.
- For leisure purposes: Driving to Botswana, Zambia, Naimb desert for holiday.
What is instinctive driving?
Instinctive driving is what we use everyday of our lives when driving to and from work on a daily basis. You don’t look and think about changing and selecting gears because it happens instinctively. When driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you cannot rely on instinctive driving – you have to think about what you’re doing and also think about which gear to select and when and how to apply brakes and when to accelerate. |
